Using Your Night Guard 

  • Wear the night guard as prescribed by your dentist. Typically, it should be worn only at night during sleep to prevent teeth grinding and clenching.
  • Wash your hands before handling the night guard.
  • Place the night guard over your upper or lower teeth as instructed by your dentist.
  • Bite down gently to ensure a comfortable fit.
  • Remove the night guard in the morning, rinse with warm water, and store in a clean, dry container.

Cleaning Your Night Guard

  • Clean your night guard daily. 
  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive cleaner (not toothpaste) to gently brush the appliance. Options include: dish soap, Polident, Efferdent, and cleansers made specifically for night guards, such as EverSmile Guard Cleaner
  • Rinse the appliance thoroughly with cool water.
  • Do not use hot water, as it can damage the appliance.
  • Do not use mouthwash, as it can discolor the appliance.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, clean container away from direct sunlight when not in use.
